Danielle SIMON Creation
Danielle sculpts clay. Each piece, each face is unique and bears the imprint of Danielle's intimate universe. Through a sensitive touch, the sculptor seeks to make the invisible visible and to sublimate the vulnerability of the living.
"I plunged my hands into the clay 5 years ago and have never left it. For and through it I have changed my life..."
Primitive ceramics and sacred art
I primarily use primitive firings reproducing ancestral gestures.
Raku is the sculptor's preferred technique. This cooking of Japanese origin means "happiness in chance". It combines the art of fire and the 4 elements.
This highly spiritual art was used in the past during the Tea Ceremony, the ritual of which was closely linked to the Zen philosophy. We glazed and cooked our bowl before using it to drink tea...
The passion of fire
At the same time, Danielle has a very special vocation for transmission. She leads creative workshops in her place of life dedicated to joy, simplicity, singing, sharing and welcoming artists.
She also organizes workshops and ceramic and Raku courses in groups of 5 to promote the creative process.
"Create , to feel alive! It is to experience our inner vertigo, our softness, our power and the beauty sown ... and at times a dive into the invisible: this secret place of reunion with our soul."
